The Dunbar Research

Dr. Daniel-Cox's research regarding the musical settings of texts by poet and Dayton native, Paul Laurence Dunbar led to her establishment of the Dunbar Music Archive (DMA) and the Dunbar Library & Archive. She travels internationally lecturing about and performing excerpts from the archive. Both the DMA and DLA include the Dunbar Dialect Glossary created by Dr.Daniel-Cox. Her research has been awarded two National Endowment for the Humanities grants and one Mellon Foundation grant, the latter being first ever awarded to the University of Dayton.
