The Dunbar Research
Dr. Daniel-Cox's research regarding the musical settings of texts by poet and Dayton native, Paul Laurence Dunbar led to her establishment of the Dunbar Music Archive (DMA) and the Dunbar Library & Archive. She travels internationally lecturing about and performing excerpts from the archive. Both the DMA and DLA include the Dunbar Dialect Glossary created by Dr.Daniel-Cox. Her research has been awarded two National Endowment for the Humanities grants and one Mellon Foundation grant, the latter being first ever awarded to the University of Dayton.
My Sister's Keeper
Conceived in 2018, The My Sister's Keeper team of performing scholars continues the exploration of African American women composers through the lens of African American women performing scholars. We are available for recitals, lectures, interviews, and masterclasses.
